Day
01 - Arr. Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer
to hotel followed by traditional welcome.
The
Indian saying goes Atithi Devo Bhava which means a guest is
god. So we greet you with great warmth, ladies in ethnic Indian
costume garland you with strings of marigold, anoint you with
tikka (an auspicious red dot) and perform the aarti. You can
then relax with a cool non alcoholic welcome drink. Overnight
at the hotel.

02 - Delhi. Morning at leisure.
Afternoon
half day city sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting
Qutab Minar built by Qutub-ud-din aibek in 1199, Humayun’s Tomb,
India Gate (war memorial arch), Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern
hindu temple. Also drive past President’s House, Parliament
House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place
- shopping centre of New Delhi.
Evening
Village Fair theme with dinner. A village setting is
created with bamboo huts, benches and stalls. Villagers mingle
with guests and display their traditional skills such as doll
making, puppet making, pottery, pichwai painting and
other crafts, entertainment includes a bandarwala staging
a monkey show, a palmist, a snake charmer, kachi-ghodi
and dhamal (a performance with a dummy horse, dancers
and singers). After a splendid dinner fascinating display of
fireworks brings a memorable evening to an end. Overnight at
the hotel.
Day
03 - Delhi. Morning half day city sightseeing tour of Old
Delhi visiting Red Fort built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor
Shahjehan and Jama Masjid , one of the largest mosques in India,
Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma
Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni Chowk shopping
centre of old Delhi and Red Fort (Red Fort is closed
on every monday).
Afternoon
at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
04 -Delhi /Agra. Morning leave by surface for Agra. On
arrival check into hotel.
Afternoon
half day city sightseeing tour of Agra visiting the world
famous Taj Mahal built by Moghul Emperor Shahjahan in 1630 for
his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later
visit the Agra Fort containing the halls of private and public
audience and other palaces.
The
visit to Taj Mahal will be by decorated tonga ride. Overnight
at the hotel.
Day
05 - Agra. Early morning visit Taj Mahal for viewing
it on the sunrise..
Evening
the Moghul theme with dinner.
Go
back to the historically fabled world of the great Moghuls,
chobedars (gate keepers) sher guests to the daawat
khana (dining room) hostesses claid in silken, flowing shararas
(skirts) and chunnis (veils) welcome the guests with
flowers and attar (perfume) in the traditional style.
Flamboyant folk dances herald a sumptuous spread of moghlai
delicacies, served in a manner befitting royalty. Overnight
at the hotel.
Day
06 - Agra / Jaipur. Morning leave by surface for Jaipur
enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar
in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water.
See the graceful buildings including Jama Masjid , tomb of Salim
Chisti, Panch Mahal and other palaces.
On
arrival check into hotel.
Evening
transport available to visit local bazaar. Overnight at the
hotel.
Day
07 - Jaipur. Morning half day excursion to Amber
Fort
the ancient capital of the state until 1728. Visit the Jagmandir
or the hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal and
Temple of Kali. Ascend the hill on which the Fort is situated
on elephant back.
Afternoon
half day city sightseeing tour of Jaipur visiting Maharaja’s
City Palace and the Observatory. Drive past Hawa Mahal or the
Palace of Winds and through the rose-pink residential and business
areas of Jaipur.
Evening
Grand Rajasthani soiree
This
popular theme is a combination of the royal welcome and Rajasthani
folk dancers. An elaborate barbeque is set up on palace lawns
with a grand firework display. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
08 - Jaipur / Samode. Morning leave by surface for Samode.
On arrival check into hotel.
Later
camel cart procession accompanied by local band followed by
royal welcome.
Afternoon
visit Samode village followed by special dinner. Overnight at
the hotel.
Day
09 - Samode / Delhi. Morning at leisure followed by safari
and sand dune lunch.
Later
return to Samode and drive on to Delhi. On arrival transfer
to hotel radisson for dinner where room for wash and change
will be available (no other accommodation)
Day
10 - Leave Delhi.On time transfer to airport to connect
flight for onward destination.
