India Farm Tour
The country of green goldmine, India is one of
the eight centres of origin of plants. Besides important
food crops it has 190 species of fruit, vegetables and
spices, more than 1200 species of medicinal and aromatic
plants. India occupies a pre-eminent position with respect
to animal genetic resources with 26 breeds of cattle,
8 breeds of buffalo, 42 breeds of sheep, 20 of goats,
8 of camel, 6 of horses, 4 of pigs and 18 breeds of poultry.
It gave rice, sugarcane, mango and many spices to the
world.
Day
01 - Arr. Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer
to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

02 - Delhi. Morning visit Indian Agriculture Research

Afternoon
half day city tour of Old and New Delhi - visit Qutab
Minar, India Gate (war memorial), Lakshminarayan Temple-modern
hindu temple, drive past President’s House, Parliament House
and Secretariat Buildings. Also visit Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana-
the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru,
Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort (closed every monday).
Evening
witness Sound And Light show, a dramatic interplay of
sound and light effects, recreating the history of Red Fort
a symbol of Mughal power. In this setting three hundred years
of history come alive.
Dinner
at Chor Bazaar Restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
03 - Delhi. Morning visit Mahesh Yogi Institute of
Herbal Medicine.
India
has 5000 years old tradition of Ayurveda Medicine which has
supported human and animal health cure in the entire south and
south-east asia. It is based on herbal remedies to various human
diseases which is used as day to day remedies against major
human diseases. There are now - a - day available in the form
of injectables, ointments, oils, tablets and liquids to be used
orally. It involves naturopathic treatment against aging, steam
alongwith herbs is used as remedies. Another system basically
similar is the Unani System of medicine an off-shoot of ayurveda
popularized by arabs and chinese medicine in which, in addition
to herbs, certain animal products are used for the cure of certain
diseases. The group is proposed to be shown research and development
Institute of Dabur where this kind of work is in progress.

04 -Delhi / Khajuraho. On time transfer to airport to
connect flight to Khajuraho.

half day tour visiting the world famous Khajuraho temples
built by the Chandela Kings between 950 ad and 1050 ad.
The most important are the Chaunset Yogini Temple dedicated
to goddess Kali, the Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji
Temple with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and
Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple, Visha Temple dedicated to Shiva,
which is the largest and most typical of temples. Overnight
at the hotel.
Day
05 - Khajuraho / Orcha. Morning leave by surface for
Orcha. On arrival check into hotel .
Afternoon
tour of Orcha. Orcha’s grandeur has been captured in
stone, frozen in time and a rich legacy to the ages. For on
this medieval city the hand of time has rested lightly and the
palaces and the temples built
by it’s bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th Century retain much
of their pristine perfection. Jehangir Mahal, a tiered palace
crowned by graceful chhatries has a spectacular view
of soaring temple spires and cenotaphs. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 - Orcha / Datia / Jhansi / Agra. Morning leave
by surface for datia to visit traditional and modern farms
in datia area. Later leave by surface for Jhansi railway
station to connect train to Agra.

07 - Agra. Morning half day city tour visiting the world
famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan
in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains.
Later visit the Agra Fort containing the halls of private and
public audience and other palaces. (Taj Mahal is closed on
every friday)
Afternoon
free for independent activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
08 - Agra/Jaipur. Later leave by surface for Jaipur enroute
visiting Fatehpur Sikri. built by Emperor Akbar in 1569
& abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See
the graceful buildings including Jama Masjid , tomb of Salim
Chishti, Panch Mahal and other palaces.
On
arrival check into hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
09 - Jaipur. Morning half day excursion to Amber Fort,
the ancient capital of the state until 1728. Visit the Jagmandir
or the hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal and
Temple of Kali. Ascend on elephant back.
Afternoon
visit modern farms on the outskirts of Jaipur. Overnight
at the hotel.
Day
10 - Jaipur. Morning half day city sightseeing tour
visiting Maharaja’s City Palace and the Observatory. Drive past
Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds and through the rose-pink
residential and business areas of Jaipur.
Afternoon
visit stud farms and horse show. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
11 - Jaipur / Delhi. Morning leave by surface for Delhi
enroute visiting Surjivan Farm on the outskirts of Delhi. This
is a modern farm with specialisation in herb farming.
On
arrival check into hotel . Overnight at the hotel.
Day
12 - Leave
Delhi. On time transfer to airport to connect flight
for onward destination.
