Cultural Tour - India & Nepal
Since time immemorial, the Indian subcontinent has
captivated and intrigued the traveller with its rich mosaic
of religions and cultures, Legends and Mysteries, People
and Experiences. Our classical journey reveals the major
influences that have shaped this remarkable region, visiting
the massive Forts of its past invaders, the magnificent
monuments of its ancient civilisations and the sacred sites
of its major religions. Our journey takes us to dramatic
and varied settings of kingdom of Nepal, the former princely
state of Rajasthan, the holy city of Varanasi and the magnificent
Taj.
Day
01 Arr. Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer
to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
02 Delhi. Morning half day city tour of Old and New Delhi
- visit Qutab Minar , India Gate (war memorial), Lakshminarayan
Temple-modern hindu temple, drive past President’s House, Parliament
House and Secretariat Buildings. Also visit Raj Ghat and Shanti
Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru,
Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort (closed every monday) and
Chandni Chowk.
Afternoon
free for independent activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
03 Delhi/Kathmandu. On time transfer to airport to connect
flight for Kathmandu.

Afternoon
half day city tour visiting the Durbar Square, Hanuman
Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter, Mahadev and Parvati
Temple, Machhender Bahl-holy place for the Buddhists and Hindus,
temple house of Kumari, the vestal virgin or the living goddess.
Walk around the local bazaars. Then visit Swayambhunath,
the 2500 years old buddhist temple. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
04 Kathmandu. Full day excursion to Bhadgaon - a newar
city of 9th Century. Visit the ancient gateway, durbar square,
royal residential quarter of bhupatindra malla, temple of nyatapola
in pagoda style and other temples. Later, visit Bodhnath,
the 2500 years old buddhist stupa; a holy place for tibetian buddhists.
Visit Pashupatinath temple with its erotic wooden carvings.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05 Kathmandu/Varanasi. On time transfer to airport
to connect flight for varanasi.

Day
06 Varanasi. Early morning boat excursion on the holy
river ganges to see the bathing ghats and cremation site. Watching
people bathing and worshipping at the ghats is one of the most
extra ordinary experiences of a visit to India.
Morning
half day sightseeing tour of the city visiting the Bharat
Mata Temple with a big relief map of India in marble, Durga Temple,
Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University which has an art
gallery and the mosque of Moghul Emperor Aurangazeb.
Afternoon
free for independent activities.Overnight at the hotel.
Day
07 Varanasi/Khajuraho. Morning half day tour of Sarnath,
the buried buddhist city where lord Buddha gave his first sermon.
Sarnath was a renowned school of learning from 6th Century B.C.
To 12th Century A.D. visit the ruins, the stupa, the buddhist
temple and the museum.
Later
on time transfer to airport to connect flight for khajuraho.

Afternoon
half day tour visiting the world famous Khajuraho temples
built by the Chandela Kings between 950 ad and 1050 ad. The
most important are the Chaunset Yogini Temple dedicated
to goddess Kali, the Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji Temple
with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi
Temples, Lakshmana Temple, Visha Temple dedicated to Shiva, which
is the largest and most typical of temples. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
08 Khajuraho/Jhansi/Agra. Morning leave by surface for Jhansi
enroute visiting Orcha. Orcha’s grandeur has been captured in
stone, frozen in time and a rich legacy to the ages. For on this
medieval city the hand of time has rested lightly and the palaces
and the temples built by it’s Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th
Century retain much of their prestine perfection. Jehangir Mahal,
a tiered palace crowned by graceful chhatries has a spectacular
view of soaring temple spires and cenotaphs.
Later
on-time transfer to railway station to connect train to Agra.

Day
09 Agra/Jaipur. Morning half day city tour visiting the world
famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan
in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains.
Later visit the Agra Fort containing the halls of private and
public audience and other palaces. (Taj Mahal is closed on
every friday)
Later
leave by surface for Jaipur enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri built
by Emperor Akbar in 1569 & abandoned after 15 years due to
scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including Jama Masjid
, tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal and other palaces. Overnight
at the hotel.
Day 10 Jaipur. Morning half day excursion to Amber
Fort, the ancient capital of the state until 1728. Visit
the Jagmandir or the hall of victory glittering with mirrors,
Jai Mahal and Temple of Kali. Ascend on elephant back, the hill,
on which the Fort is situated.
Afternoon
half day city sightseeing tour visiting Maharaja’s City
Palace and the Observatory. Drive past Hawa Mahal or the Palace
of Winds and through the rose-pink residential and business areas
of Jaipur. Overnight at the hotel.
Day
11 Jaipur/Delhi/Leave Delhi. Morning leave by surface for
Delhi. On arrival transfer to airport to connect flight for onward
journey.
End of our services. Check in check out time at
all hotel is 12 noon.
